Tektronix, a global test and measurement equipment company, has set a new standard for automated testing with the launch of new products that maximize flexibility and expandability through modular design.

Tektronix announced on the 18th that it has officially launched the MP5000 series modular precision test system.

This system is a next-generation test platform that integrates a high-precision source measure unit (SMU) and a programmable power supply (PSU) into a 1U compact mainframe, providing the flexibility, high density, and automation capabilities required in validation and production environments.

The MP5000 series is designed to enable engineers to quickly reconfigure the system as the test environment changes.

The initial configuration includes △60V dual-channel SMU module △50W dual-channel bidirectional PSU module △MP5103 mainframe, and up to 6 independent channels can be configured per mainframe.

It also supports multi-site testing that requires high-speed processing and precise synchronization by connecting up to 32 mainframes in parallel.

Modules can be replaced within minutes, allowing for functional expansion or maintenance without interrupting testing, ensuring both productivity and operational stability. It's a strong advantage.

The core strengths of the MP5000 series include the ability to freely combine SMUs and PSUs to address a variety of test tasks, and the ability to connect up to 32 units with 6 channels per 1U chassis to maximize space efficiency.

Additionally, the SMU provides 100fA precision resolution and 1MSa/s digitization capability, the PSU supports 50W output per channel and bipolar output, and the test script processor (TSP) eliminates delay between the PC and the equipment, and is compatible with Python, LabVIEW, and IVI drivers.

It offers modular calibration, independent slot power control, and an intuitive web/touch interface, ensuring maximum uptime.

“The MP5000 series is more than just a device; it’s a blueprint for the future of automated test for the next decade,” said Chris Bohn, president of Tektronix. “By balancing accuracy and productivity, it enables engineers to scale their test strategies to keep pace with the pace of innovation, without compromising performance.”

The MP5000 series is optimized for a variety of workflows, including verification, reliability testing, and mass production, and its open platform allows for continuous expansion to meet customers' future needs.

In particular, the 200V high-pulsing SMU module is scheduled to be released in early 2026, and the scope of application is planned to expand to the semiconductor and optoelectronic fields.

The MP5000 series began taking orders on the 18th.
