Both CPU and MCU hypervisors are certified and meet essential functional safety requirements.

Perseus, a global virtualization and security software company, has strengthened its position in the global automotive technology market as a leading domestic deep tech company through ASIL-D certification.

Perseus announced on the 15th that it had received ASIL-D certification, the highest level of the automotive functional safety international standard ISO 26262:2018, from international certification agency DNV.

In particular, it is the first in the industry to receive ASIL-D certification for both CPU and MCU hypervisors, demonstrating its unrivaled technological prowess in cross-platform safety.

ISO 26262 is an international standard for the functional safety of automotive electrical and electronic systems. ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) is divided into grades from A to D, with D requiring the highest level of safety assurance.

To obtain ASIL-D certification, a system must pass a multi-step process, including rigorous technical verification by an independent certification body, identification of safety-critical components, establishment of a functional safety management system (FSMS), fault injection and redundancy verification, and independent functional safety assessment (FSA).

This certification allows Perseus to meet the needs of global automakers and major component suppliers. By meeting essential functional safety requirements, we have secured a decisive advantage in entering domestic and international markets. Furthermore, we can accelerate technology integration with existing partners and increase the speed and efficiency of hypervisor deployment when new chipsets are released.

Perseus is the only company to have achieved ASIL-D certification for both CPU and MCU platforms, providing highly reliable virtualization technology that is easily integrated into safety-critical automotive systems. This expands collaboration opportunities with automakers, semiconductor manufacturers, and software integrators, and serves as a positive signal to investors, reducing market entry risk.

CEO Seo Sang-beom stated, "This certification is a significant milestone, validating the safety and reliability of Perseus technology. We will expand our collaboration with global automakers and key suppliers and create new opportunities." In July 2025, he was appointed the first Korean to serve on the advisory board of the Fraunhofer Institute for Software Engineering in Germany, further acknowledging his global technological leadership.

Perseus is carrying out national projects of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Ministry of Science and ICT. After receiving seed investment from Kakao just one month after its founding, it recently secured Series A investment of 9.1 billion won, recording a cumulative investment of 14 billion won.
