The second round of the exam, scheduled for November 1st, will assess Tekla-based rebar modeling and structural verification capabilities.
Trimble Korea, a global leader in construction 3D BIM technology, is launching Korea's first practical BIM expert qualification exam based on its BIM software, Tekla Structures.
Trimble Korea announced on the 13th that it will hold the second round of the 'BIM Specialist Level 2 (Architecture)' certification exam on November 1st.
The exam is jointly hosted by the Korea BIM Society and the Korea Digital Education Institute, and the first exam was successfully completed on August 30th.
This qualification test is a practical assessment designed to strengthen structural stability and rebar construction management. Applicants will be objectively evaluated on their Tekla-based rebar modeling and structural verification capabilities.
Tekla Structures is a BIM solution that supports the entire construction process from design to fabrication and construction, maximizing precise modeling, constructability, and collaboration efficiency.
This will help improve the quality and safety of construction projects and foster the development of professionals who can be directly applied in practice.
Trimble Korea President Park Wan-soon said, “This is the first Tekla-based BIM solution in Korea.“This exam will serve as an opportunity to accelerate the development of BIM talent centered on practical skills,” he said. “We will continue to contribute to improving structural safety and quality through various training and collaborations.”
On August 6, Trimble signed a strategic MOU with the Korea Digital Education Institute for cooperation in BIM education and qualification systems.
The two organizations are strengthening BIM talent training through joint education, certification preparation courses, and seminars and workshops.
Trimble also provides free Cost-BIM training for small and medium-sized business employees and students at the Incheon Campus of Korea Polytechnic University, and is committed to fostering the next generation of experts by sponsoring the 'BIM Awards' and operating the 'Trimble Camp'.
Trimble plans to continue expanding its educational and technological cooperation to revitalize the domestic BIM ecosystem and take the lead in improving the quality and safety of the construction industry.
