FSG Consortium Launched, Joining Dioise, ST, Suresoft, and TUV SUD

IAR, a global provider of embedded development software and services, has taken steps to support embedded system functional safety certification and enhance product development capabilities.

IAR announced that it will form a consortium, the Functional Safety Group (FSG), with embedded software solution developers, semiconductor specialists, test solution providers, and certification and consulting solution providers to strengthen functional safety, and will hold a launching ceremony on March 7th at the conference room of the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido.

FSG is a private consortium comprised of various companies that support functional safety certification for embedded system developers and contribute to improving product development capabilities.

This FSG consortium includes IAR, Dioise Co., Ltd., an RTOS middleware solution developer, STMicroelectronics, a semiconductor and software solution specialist, SureSoftTech Co., Ltd., a requirements management and testing solution company, and TUV SUD Korea, a certification and consulting solution company.

“As the demand for functional safety continues to grow, the number of companies requiring functional safety certification is increasing every year,” said Kiyofumi Uemura, Vice President and Head of IAR’s Asia Pacific business. However, many companies struggle to find easy solutions for certification, which can delay product launches and lead to a loss of competitiveness. FSG expects to quickly resolve these issues and contribute significantly to the industry's development.

“It takes a lot of time and effort for companies new to functional safety requirements to research and acquire relevant solutions,” said Seong-won Ho, CEO of Dioise. “FSG’s main goal is to help companies successfully enter the market by quickly and efficiently completing the development and certification of products that meet functional safety requirements, and ultimately contribute to the development of the functional safety-related industry.”

“As part of FSG, we are delighted to be able to contribute to providing solutions for functional safety certification together with key members of FSG,” said Paolo Oteri, MDG General Manager Korea and Japan, STMicroelectronics. “ST is one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies, and its STM32 is the industry’s most widely used microcontroller. We expect that through FSG activities, we will be able to contribute in more diverse ways to the many customers who need functional safety solutions,” he said.

"FSG was established in response to the rapid growth of the functional safety market through collaboration between domestic and international experts in this field," said Bae Hyeon-seop, CEO of SureSoftTech. "Through FSG, companies will receive certification solutions optimized for industry-specific safety requirements, enabling them to more easily and quickly verify product safety and meet global functional safety requirements."

“The launch of FSG will play a significant role in strengthening cooperation in the field of functional safety based on each company’s expertise and experience and promoting the development of related industries,” said Seo Jeong-wook, CEO of TUV SUD Korea. “TUV SUD Korea will do its best to improve the understanding and application of functional safety standards and contribute to enhancing the safety and reliability of our customers’ products and services.”
