Global semiconductor equipment sales are expected to reach $33 billion in the second quarter of 2025, up 24% year-over-year.
The global semiconductor equipment market continued its robust growth in the second quarter of 2025.
According to the latest report from SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International), global semiconductor equipment sales in the second quarter of 2025 were projected to reach $33.07 billion, a 24% increase year-over-year.
This represents a 3% increase compared to the previous quarter, and the main growth factors are analyzed to be the expansion of demand for advanced logic processes and high-bandwidth memory (HBM), as well as increased shipments in the Asian region.
The global semiconductor equipment market is expected to surpass $65 billion in cumulative sales in the first half of 2025, continuing the strong growth seen in 2024.
“We continue to invest in strengthening our advanced logic and memory production capabilities to drive AI innovation and enhance regional supply chain resilience,” said Ajit Manocha, CEO of SEMI.
Increased equipment shipments to Asia contributed significantly to this quarter's growth. In particular, production expansion and process advancements in major semiconductor producing countries such as Korea, Taiwan, and China have stimulated equipment demand and had a positive impact on the recovery of the global supply chain.
These statistics were released through the 'Global Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics Report' based on data jointly submitted by SEMI and the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ), and precisely reflect the trends of the semiconductor industry as data that aggregates monthly billing amounts.
