Nota to Implement Kolon's VLM-Based Real-Time Video Surveillance Solution, 'NVA'

It is expected that the generative AI-based real-time video analysis solution will be applied to actual industrial sites to reduce false and mis-detected detections, recognize situational context in real time, and provide groundbreaking assistance in industrial safety.

Nota AI, a company specializing in AI lightweighting and optimization technology, has opened a new horizon in the industrial AI market by commercializing 'NVA (Nota Vision Agent),' a real-time video control solution based on the Vision Language Model (VLM) for the first time in Korea.

NVA, which incorporates generative AI technology, is a next-generation control system that goes beyond simple object recognition to detect violations of work procedures and complex risk factors in real time.

While existing computer vision (CV)-based solutions have shown limitations due to false positives and false negatives and complex settings, NVA provides user-friendly risk analysis and question-and-answer functions through a natural language-based interface.

In particular, multi-condition scenarios such as 'working alone on a ladder without safety equipment' can be easily defined, and an alert is sent within 2.5 seconds when the conditions are met, enabling an immediate response.

Nota, in collaboration with Kolon Benit, successfully completed a PoC based on eight scenarios at Kolon Industries' Gimcheon Plant 2, and based on this, launched a VLM-based package on July 30.
/> A Kolon Industries official commented, “NVA has raised the level of on-site control to the next level by proactively detecting SOP compliance and complex risk situations.”

The speed of introduction is also noteworthy.

While existing AI control systems take an average of more than three months to add new detection rules, NVA can be implemented within a week, and the entire system can be operational in just two to three weeks.

It can be immediately integrated with existing CCTV infrastructure, allowing for introduction without separate equipment replacement, and can be flexibly expanded from small to large-scale businesses.

All data is securely protected through encryption technology.

With this commercialization as an opportunity, Nota is also accelerating its entry into global markets such as the Middle East and North America.

We are verifying the applicability of NVA in various fields such as industrial safety, ITS, retail, and childcare, and are expanding verification and commercialization through cooperation with domestic and international partners.

Nota CEO Chae Myung-soo said, “NVA is a practical solution that reduces casualties and enhances safety by applying generative AI technology to industrial sites.” He added, “Our goal is to become the global standard for industrial AI control, not as technology for technology’s sake, but as a strategic milestone for solving industrial problems.”

He continued, “As we approach listing, NVA will be an opportunity to demonstrate Nota’s technological prowess and business capabilities.”

Meanwhile, at the ' 2025 e4ds Tech Day ' on September 9, Nota AI's manager Seokyoung Cho will present 'Hardware cognitive AI model optimization solution for on-device AI'.Anyone interested in learning more about Nota's on-device AI model technology is welcome to attend and hear about the event.
