SK Telecom announced on the 10th that it signed a business agreement with Hyundai Construction Equipment and Trimble to develop 5G smart construction solutions and promote business.

Hyundai Construction Equipment is a company specializing in the production of heavy construction equipment such as excavators and forklifts. Trimble is a company that provides specialized solutions for the entire construction site, including location information, modeling, and construction site data analysis.

Through this business agreement, the three companies will develop a 5G smart construction solution that can increase construction efficiency by applying 5G and ICT technologies to civil engineering and construction sites. In the short term, they will apply intelligent construction equipment to the site to increase construction efficiency and build a real-time construction site safety management system using various detection sensors.

In the future, we plan to develop a solution that can remotely diagnose and manage construction equipment failures using 5G communication networks. When this solution is applied to construction sites, it is expected to have the effect of increasing equipment operating time and reducing maintenance costs.

Additionally, the three companies plan to maximize the efficiency of construction site operation management by applying AI solutions to the entire construction process, including estimation, surveying, design, planning, construction, and inspection.

To this end, SK Telecom will be responsible for ▲5G-based remote management technology for construction site digital data suitable for a smart construction environment ▲joint development of AI-based construction site operation efficiency technology ▲development of construction site safety enhancement solutions, etc.

Hyundai Construction Equipment is developing intelligent heavy equipment to be used in 5G smart construction solutions and is also advancing technology to repair broken equipment through remote connection.

Trimble develops ▲solutions for efficiently managing assets and sites in a smart construction environment ▲technology for surveying terrain using drones and converting it into digital data.

The three companies agreed to jointly pursue marketing for entry into domestic and international markets after developing the solution.
