DEEPX, an on-device AI semiconductor company, has formed a strategic partnership with Koshida Corporation, a Japanese technology distributor, and is targeting the Japanese edge AI market. The plan is to jointly promote the local commercialization of NPU product lines, targeting Japanese manufacturing and infrastructure sites where demand for automation and intelligence is growing due to an aging population and labor shortages.

DeepX announced on the 3rd that it had signed a strategic partnership agreement with the other company at the Koshida Tech headquarters in Tokyo, Japan on the 2nd.

Under this agreement, Goshida Tech will utilize its local customer network to identify projects, propose products, and expand supply, while DeepX plans to support the customer's product development and mass production by providing NPU product lines, software development environments, reference platforms, and technical support.

Founded in 1930, Koshida Tech is a Japanese technology distribution and solutions company that has conducted business in various fields such as automobiles, semiconductors, IoT, and AI.

DeepX's flagship NPU, the DX-M1, is an ultra-low power AI semiconductor designed based on a 5-nanometer process.

DeepX explained that it aims for low-power operation at the 3-5W level while providing 25 TOPS-class AI computing performance, and that it can be applied to security cameras, industrial computers, robots, drones, smart factory equipment, edge servers, etc.

DeepX currently operates a customer network in North America, Greater China, and Southeast Asia through partnerships with about 20 global distributors, including AVNET, WPG, Macnica, and DigiKey.

This agreement with Koshida Tech is structured to add a local Japanese channel to the existing global network.

“Our goal is to gradually increase the number of cases where DeepX NPUs are commercialized in actual industrial settings through cooperation with our Japanese partners,” said Kim Nok-won, CEO of DeepX."We will practically apply the ultra-low power AI semiconductor technology developed in Korea to global manufacturing and infrastructure sites," he said.
