Recognized for research achievements in ceramic additive manufacturing technology, WAC officially selected
A Korean researcher in the field of ceramic additive manufacturing has been granted Fellow status by the world's most prestigious organization in the ceramics sector. The selection of Yoon Hee-sook, Head of the Bio-Health Materials Research Division at the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), as a Fellow of the World Academy of Ceramics (WAC) confirms the international standing of domestic ceramic materials research.

The Korea Institute of Materials Science announced on the 7th that Principal Researcher Hee-Sook Yoon has been selected as a WAC Fellow.

WAC Fellowship is an honorary position awarded to experts recognized for their outstanding research achievements and industrial and international contributions in the field of global ceramics.

The research institute explained that this selection was made as an official evaluation by the global ceramics community of the research on ceramic additive manufacturing technology that Director Yoon has led.

Ceramic additive manufacturing is a technology that produces ceramic parts with complex shapes using 3D printing and is widely used in the bio-health materials field.

The WAC is an international academic organization representing the global ceramics field, and the selection of a Fellow is an honorary system awarded to internationally recognized researchers in the field.

The research institute stated that the selection of Director Yoon has reaffirmed KIMS's global research competitiveness on the international stage.
