키사이트(Keysight)는 최초로 복수의 모뎀 공급업체가 참여한 최초의 5G-V2X(3GPP Release-16 사이드링크) 상호운용성 시험을 완료했다고 6일 자사 홈페이지를 통해 전했다
Etiphos and Autotox Conduct Physical Layer Tests to Verify Stable Communication Between 5G-V2X Modems
Etiphos SIRIUS successfully communicates with Autotalks SECTON3 chipset via Keysight X-app, etc. Keysight announced that it has successfully completed testing to verify stable communication between Etiforce's 5G-V2X modem and Autotalks' 5G-V2X modem chipset.
Keysight announced on its website on the 6th that it has completed the first 5G-V2X (3GPP Release-16 sidelink) interoperability test involving multiple modem vendors.
The interoperability testing was conducted at Keysight’s headquarters in Germany and featured the Etifos 5G-V2X platform, along with the SECTON3 5G-V2X modem chipset from Israeli fabless company Autotalks, centered around Keysight’s V2X test solution.
Wireless interoperability testing is a critical testing opportunity for device and chip manufacturers to demonstrate that their products are ready to support advanced V2X services and applications.
We conducted rigorous physical layer tests to verify stable and interference-free communication between the two companies' 5G-V2X modems.
Keysight said in a press release that Etifos' SIRIUS platform will be used by the European Telecommunications Institute (ETSI) to generate and analyze signals using Keysight's PathWave signal generation and X-apps for 5G NR V2X modulation analysis measurement applications.announced that it has successfully communicated with Autotalk's SECTON3 chipset using the sidelink profile defined in the EN 303 798 standard.
This first successful multi-vendor 5G-V2X sidelink interoperability test marks the beginning of the commercialization of 5G-V2X, the next-generation V2X communications standard.

“Etiforce has demonstrated the world’s first software-upgradeable 5G-V2X onboard unit to provide reliable, interference-free communications for road safety and convenience applications, while validating interoperability with Autotalks’ 5G-V2X solution,” said Kangmin Lee, Etiforce COO. “Working with Keysight and Autotalks represents a further step forward in advancing 5G-V2X.”
“The Release 16 5G-V2X interoperability testing represents a pivotal step forward in realizing the full potential of 5G-V2X technology,” said Thomas Goetzl, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Automotive and Energy Solutions business unit. “This advancement will pave the way for safer, more connected and more efficient transportation systems. Keysight looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Autotalks and Etiforce as they pioneer 5G technologies,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the 31st of last month, Etiforce successfully completed interoperability testing between its own LTE-V2X modem and Qualcomm's LTE-V2X modem.
The interoperability test was conducted internally by Etifos using its own LTE-V2X terminal based on the Software Defined Modem (SDM) developed in-house and its roadside support stations and vehicle terminals equipped with Qualcomm's V2X chips as test equipment.
The significance of this is that the V2X modem solution developed using pure domestic technology through compatibility verification has secured communication performance compatible with global-level commercial modem chipsets.
Etiphos is attracting attention based on the above-mentioned technological prowess, and in recognition of the potential of its SDM technology, it recently completed a Series A investment of 8.5 billion won from LB Investment, Industrial Bank of Korea, L&S Venture Capital, and BNK Venture Investment.
