Keysight Technologies, Inc. recently announced that it has acquired Cliosoft to expand its EDA solutions portfolio by adding Cliosoft’s hardware design expertise and IP management software tools.

Cliosoft, a company focused on managing design data, including items such as functional IP blocks for integrated circuits, said the acquisition will extend Keysight’s electronic design automation (EDA) capabilities into process and data management (PDM) products, expanding into intelligent automation software solutions that make PDM an essential component of more productive workflows.

The combined companies said they will continue to build upon the EDA industry ecosystem, including Cadence, Empyrean, MathWorks, Siemens EDA, Silvaco and Synopsys environments.

“The addition of our portfolio of PDM solutions will support the increasingly complex product development lifecycle and is a natural evolution of our open EDA interoperability strategy by providing best-in-class tools and workflows,” he added.

Cliosoft claims that by providing proven software tools that enable product teams to reduce the time it takes to perform data analysis and gain insights, they can experience increased productivity in the validation phase and a shortened overall development cycle, resulting in faster insights and greater reuse.
