Optimizing urban reconstruction in cooperation with B4, Aegis, etc.
The Ukrainian government is using Dassault Systèmes’ virtual twin technology to rebuild damaged urban areas. To this end, Dassault Systèmes is collaborating with urban infrastructure specialists B4 and Egis.
Dassault Systèmes announced on the 10th that it will carry out a Ukrainian urban reconstruction project in collaboration with B4, a company specializing in urban infrastructure design, and Egis, a consulting firm that supports the construction of sustainable infrastructure.
The Ukrainian government will implement urban reconstruction based on the expertise and experience of Dassault Systèmes, B4 and Aegis. The project is supported by a grant from the French Ministry of Finance.
The Ukraine reconstruction project will be implemented in two phases, combining Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform with Aegis and B4’s construction engineering expertise.
The first step will be to assess the damage and analyze the reconstruction costs in the Chernihiv Oblast in northern Ukraine. Master planning for reconstruction will then be carried out.
The first step is to assess the damage within the state, estimate the cost of reconstruction, and define which structures should be rebuilt first. Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform hosts all the information and analysis collected by Aegis and B4 experts. Automatically detect affected areas through satellite data analysis and determine priorities through on-site inspections.
The second stage will involve building a virtual twin of Chernihiv Oblast on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This will focus on optimizing the urban reconstruction approach, including the design of new buildings and the organization of urban transport, infrastructure and other services. Using virtual twin technology, stakeholders from various sectors will jointly test various scenarios, including parameters such as flood risk, accessibility, transport, land use, location of key urban assets, existing sewerage and other infrastructure networks. At the same time, information will be collected from existing documentation and city authorities, taking into account the needs and expectations of local residents, the vision of the city by local officials, and economic and social development challenges.
All information collected throughout the project will be included in a virtual twin of the city, allowing partners to collaborate on a city master plan.
“Through this joint project with B4 and Aegis, Dassault Systèmes hopes to help local governments in Ukraine improve their cities and the lives within them, with a long-term impact. Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform will play a key role in building more sustainable and resilient cities,” said Florence Verzelen, SVP, Industry, Marketing and Sustainability, Dassault Systèmes. “Complete with expertise, know-how and data, the virtual twin technology will help us explore infinite scenarios to best meet human needs, respond to climate change and optimize planning for the upgrade of public transportation, smart services and public facilities.”
