The 23rd Korea Semiconductor Design Fair Awards Ceremony Held
In order to strengthen the system semiconductor ecosystem, talent development is of utmost importance. Accordingly, a competition was held to promote creativity and enhance design capabilities of semiconductor design talents.
The 23rd Korea Semiconductor Design Fair awards ceremony, co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Semiconductor Industry Association, will be held on the 6th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
In this competition, which was held to cultivate the design capabilities and discover creative ideas of undergraduate and graduate students in the field of semiconductor design, Lee Hyun-soo, Ahn Ji-san, and Kang Min-il from the BASIC Lab of Korea University were honored with the Presidential Award.
The Presidential Award winner is said to have completed domestic and overseas patent applications for the design of a 'Wireless Power and Data Transmission System Using Hybrid-LSK Back Telemetry Technique', a back telemetry system that has a constant input change regardless of the resistance applied.

This competition received approximately 50 entries from 21 universities across the country, and awards were given including one Presidential Award, one Prime Minister’s Award, four government awards, and ten special corporate awards.
In addition, a total of 20 teams were selected for government awards and Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix corporate special awards, including △Prime Minister’s Award winners, KAIST Lim Gyu-wan and 1 other person, △Chung-Ang University and Korea Aerospace University, and 4 other teams, who were selected for the Minister’s Award. It's decided.
Ten companies participated as sponsors: Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, LX Semicon, Silicon Mitus, Telechips, AD Technology, Synopsys Korea, Mathworks Korea, Siemens EDA, and Cadence Korea.
Lee Chang-han, Vice Chairman of the Korea Semiconductor Association, said, “Training human resources in system semiconductors is the competitiveness and future of the country,” and added, “I ask that companies, universities, and related organizations in the domestic system semiconductor industry continue to provide support.”
