Arc B580·570 GPUs, providing the latest gaming features
Intel announced on the 4th that it has released a new Intel Arc B series graphics card (codenamed Battlemage). Key features include: △Media Engine △AI Playground support △Game On Driver support.
The Intel Arc B580 and B570 GPUs deliver cutting-edge gaming features and are designed to accelerate AI workloads. They include the Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX) AI Engine and support the latest XeSS 2, a trio of technologies that improve performance, visual fluidity, and responsiveness.
The new Xe cores are said to deliver improved performance in ray tracing units, mesh shading performance, and support for key graphics features, which will significantly improve the performance efficiency of modern game engines.
XeSS 2 features three technologies: XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Generation, and Xe Low Latency. Super Resolution is a core technology that has been the basis for the first-generation XeSS, which has provided AI-based upscaling for the past two years and currently supports over 150 games.
New AI-based XeSS frame generation adds interpolated frames using optical flow and motion vector reprojection for more fluid gaming. Additionally, the new Xe low-latency technology integrates with game engines to respond more quickly to gamers’ inputs.
Intel’s graphics IP enables the implementation of modern graphics experiences at scale across a wide range of devices, including graphics cards, notebooks, and handheld devices. Intel’s continued investment across its graphics portfolio allows the Intel Arc B Series GPUs to benefit from a mature software environment.
Compared to the previous generation, the Intel Arc B-series GPUs are claimed to offer up to 70% better performance per Xe core and 50% better performance per watt. The B580 GPU is reportedly up to 24% faster on average at 1440p compared to the Intel Arc A750 GPU, and up to 78% faster in some games.
The Intel Arc B580 offers 12GB of dedicated GPU memory, while the Intel Arc B570 offers 10GB of dedicated GPU memory, allowing gamers to expect high-performance gaming at Ultra HD settings at 1440p with AI-based XeSS 2 technology.
“The new Intel Arc B-series GPUs are the perfect upgrade for gamers,” said Vivian Lien, general manager of Intel’s Client Graphics Business Group. “They deliver incredible 1440p gaming experiences with XeSS 2, the second-generation ray tracing engine, and the XMX AI Engine, along with best-in-class price-performance.”
