Qorvo® (NASDAQ: QRVO), a global leader in connectivity and power solutions, today announced the expansion of its Ultra-Wideband (UWB) portfolio with a new, low-power system-on-chip (SoC) supporting UWB technology.
The latest SoC, QM35825, provides precise location tracking and supports a wide range of applications including automated presence detection, home security, vital signs monitoring, and personalized content experiences using radar-based sensing technology.
The QM35825 is a product developed based on Kobo’s UWB expertise accumulated over the past 10 years, and delivers powerful performance.
It has a link budget of 104dBm and on-chip AI and machine learning processing to accurately set the position measurement range and boast excellent resilience.
It also provides a developer-friendly architecture and supports seamless integration with existing ecosystems through APIs.
This approach accelerates the development and deployment of new applications using UWB technology.
“Qorvo is innovating UWB technology to help customers get products to market faster,” said Marc Pegulu, vice president of connectivity solutions at Qorvo.“The QM35825 combines outstanding RF performance, radar technology and precise positioning capabilities to open up next-generation applications in a variety of markets,” he said.
The QM35825 is currently sampling to key customers and network infrastructure providers. Qobo is expanding the use cases of UWB technology through a strong partner ecosystem of more than 30 companies, and fostering collaboration and innovation through active technical forums. These efforts reflect Qobo’s commitment to further advancing UWB technology with industry-leading performance.
An evaluation and development kit for the QM35825 will be available through Qobo’s global distribution network starting in June 2025. The kit includes example applications, developer tools, and software solutions to help developers quickly and easily leverage UWB technology in a configurable environment.
With this launch, Qobo is pioneering innovative use of UWB technology in connectivity and power solutions, marking a significant leap forward for the development of next-generation applications.
