Feeder/Transformer function update product enhancement
Suitable for high-pressure environments...Efficient power system protection
Schneider Electric announced on the 14th that it has applied updated functions to its modular all-in-one digital protection relay PowerLogic P7.
Power systems in commercial and industrial facilities can cause equipment damage, increased operating costs, and safety threats due to factors such as overload and overcurrent. Protective relays for this purpose serve to prevent equipment damage and stop the system, and operate quickly in abnormal situations to protect the power network and minimize equipment damage.
Schneider Electric introduces PowerLogic P7, a new family of digital protection relays that address power system faults and failures during power disruptions.
PowerLogic P7 is an intuitive menu-based, large-color touchscreen HMI that allows operation and displays power distribution status based on a graphical and pictorial interface. It is also a modular, all-in-one digital protection relay that supports condition-based monitoring and flag-and-play hardware modules, enabling flexible equipment operation.
Protected applications can help ensure uninterrupted business operations and prevent costly downtime. It also comes with a tailored cybersecurity package that provides IEC 62443 SL2 capabilities, reducing exposure to cyber threats and enhancing operational security.
Schneider has released Feeder and Transformer application functions in addition to the existing PowerLogic P7 motor and generator applications, enabling a wider range of protection functions and improving the stability, reliability and efficiency of power networks.
Park Moon-hwan, division manager of Schneider Electric Korea’s Digital Energy business unit, said, “Schneider Electric’s PowerLogic P7 is a digital-based, all-in-one protection relay suitable for high-voltage environments. It is easy to configure, test, and maintain, making it possible to easily protect systems, improve network reliability, and monitor predictive assets.” He added, “In particular, it is characterized by providing more efficient and future-oriented power system protection and user convenience through additional technology development and new updates.”
