On-device AI technology, which implements AI inside a device when it is not connected to a network, is positioned as an important product feature for dominating the next-generation market. While global companies are fiercely competing to secure early market leadership, SW-HW solution companies that enable developers and manufacturers lacking AI capabilities to easily implement on-device AI have gathered in one place.
The 2024 Start On-Device AI Conference (hereinafter referred to as 2024 SODA) will be held on October 15th at the Korea Conference Center Grand Hall near Gangnam Station in Seoul.
Hosted by e4ds, this event will present on the topic of ‘On-Device AI Technology Trends and Prospects and AI Embedded Product Development Strategies’, with keynote speakers including STMicroelectronics, Professor Kim Gyeong-gi of Daegu University, Gamba Labs CEO Park Se-jin, NotaAI Manager Cho Seok-young, and Codeju CEO Jang Byeong-nam.
There will be a series of presentations covering AI SW and HW areas for product developers, planners, embedded developers, etc. It is expected to narrow the gap between AI SW and HW development.
With on-device AI emerging as the biggest trend technology in 2024, early market dominance and time-to-market are more important than ever. Local edge-based AI is being installed and developed in all products, large and small, from home appliance manufacturers to PCs, mobile devices, mobility, and IoT.
On the other hand, there are only a few AI developers currently working, and there are even complaints that it is as difficult as trying to find a needle in a haystack to recruit AI experts in the manufacturing industry, not only for small and medium-sized companies but also for large corporations. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to address the AI capabilities of domestic manufacturing.
At
SODA 2024, two AI model lightweight and optimization solution companies that optimize AI model embedding in individual chips used by enterprises will present AI SW solutions.
Gamba Labs is an on-device AI company with ultra-light voice recognition and speaker recognition technologies, and has model lightweight technology that can port AI models to edge chips such as MCUs. At
2024 SODA, they will present 'On-Device AI & TinyML: Implementing Voice Recognition and Speaker Recognition with IoT Embedded Systems, Development of Hardware Modules for TinyML'.
Nota Co., Ltd. is an IT startup that has attracted investment from major domestic companies such as Samsung, LG, Naver, and Kakao, and has established official partnerships with global semiconductor companies such as Nvidia, Arm, Qualcomm, Renesas, and ST. At the 2024 SODA, it will present on 'Hardware Cognitive AI Model Optimization Solution and Success Cases for On-Device AI'.
In Part 2, we will present on HW solutions. △ Jang Byeong-nam, CEO of Codeju, will present ‘On-Device AI Product Development and Application Cases’ and △ ST’s ‘STM32 MCU-based AI Solution and AI Demo’ are scheduled. From a hardware perspective, methodologies and case studies for embedding AI models and developing products will be presented.
In the keynote speech, Professor Kim Gyeong-gi of Daegu University will present on ‘On-Device AI Technology Trends and Prospects.’
There is currently a 50% discount event for early bird registrants, and applications are being accepted on
the 2024 SODA website .
