Proprietary pixel architecture, onboard storage, real-time depth measurement
Intelligent power and sensing technology company ON Semiconductor announced on the 12th that it has launched the 'Hyperlux ID' family of real-time iToF (indirect time-of-flight) sensors. The new sensors provide high-precision long-distance measurements and 3D image processing of fast-moving objects.
The Hyperlux ID family uses Onsemi’s proprietary global shutter pixel architecture and onboard storage to process full scene capture and depth measurements in real time. It can sense depth up to 30 meters away and simultaneously generates grayscale images and depth information to provide a comprehensive view of the environment.
Onsemi said its Hyperlux ID family of products supports streamlined designs, long-range depth sensing, operation under dynamic scene conditions, and capture of fast-moving objects.
The Hyperlux ID product line is suitable for a wide range of industrial environments, including automation and robotics, manufacturing and quality control, logistics and materials handling, agriculture, and access control systems. It can also be used in commercial applications such as facial recognition, gesture detection, and 3D video conferencing.

The Hyperlux ID family of sensors combines global shutter architecture with iToF technology to provide depth sensing. The proprietary global shutter pixel architecture allows for the simultaneous capture and storage of four phases of light in a single exposure. Onboard depth processing is integrated to provide real-time results.
“The Hyperlux ID offers high resolution, ambient light suppression and excellent integrated processing capabilities,” said Alexander Lewinsky, managing director of IDS Imaging Development Systems.
Meanwhile, the Hyperlux ID family includes a 1.2MP global shutter 3.5µm BSI pixel sensor. The AF0130 model offers onboard processing, allowing customers to integrate their own depth algorithms.
