Combination of devices, AI agents, and integrated services
“AI Home, Mutual Benefits through Cooperation and Partnership”
Amidst the fierce battle for hegemony among global leading companies over what market keywords will lead the new year of 2025, LG has revealed its vision for the future by accelerating the creation of an AI home and space ecosystem through 'empathetic intelligence'.
LG Electronics held the LG World Premiere ahead of the opening of CES 2025 in Las Vegas, USA on the 6th (local time) and introduced LG Electronics' technology and future vision.
LG Electronics CEO Cho Joo-wan introduced LG Electronics' future vision and AI technology combination through the announcement, and also emphasized the importance of building an AI home open ecosystem.
“A new way of life is created when devices and services are in harmony in home, mobility, and commercial spaces,” said CEO Cho. “To achieve this, three elements are combined: devices, AI agents, and integrated services.”
LG said it is strengthening its ecosystem by cooperating with about 170 global IoT brands, including the acquisition of Dutch smart home platform company Athom last year, and that it has achieved this by focusing on AI development for several years.On stage that day, O showcased LG AI, which is capable of intelligent detection functions and multi-mode-based situational understanding.
On this day, LG Electronics presented a future daily life based on integrated services of LG AI connected to LG devices through a stage demonstration. It demonstrated daily conversations with users through language, as well as schedule briefings and weather notifications when going out.

LG AI aims for an open ecosystem and has established an AI home ecosystem. Vice President Brett Varner emphasized, “AI homes cannot be realized by just one company,” and “We can achieve mutual benefit within the ecosystem through cooperation and partnerships.”
LG said that it will secure the scalability necessary to implement AI homes by combining AtHome’s open ecosystem with the ThinQ platform. Accordingly, it recently opened the LG Smart Solutions API developer site and announced that ThinQ API will be supported in the global open smart home community, enabling the development and sharing of various services.
In addition, LG showcased LG AI services in the mobility space, and unveiled a solution that detects changes inside a vehicle and applies them to daily life by combining multimodal AI. It implemented a user-centered mobility space through △real-time route recommendations, △driver vital signal detection, and △driving timelines.
LG also unveiled the LG Gram AI to join the AI PC trend. LG Gram AI provides a hybrid AI solution that combines on-device and web-based cloud services, and is equipped with an on-device time travel function.
“Home appliances are evolving into platform-based service providers and can open up new business opportunities by offering Space as a Service,” said CEO Cho Joo-wan. “LG is reorganizing its organization in three core areas: Space, Customer, and Solutions, and focusing on B2C and B2B.”
Meanwhile, LG announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft (MS) for AI-based future space innovation.
