The Galaxy S25, which will be unpacked on the 13th, is equipped with new materials that enhance durability for the slimmest display ever.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 9th that it has applied Corning's new mobile glass ceramic, 'Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2', to the front display of the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Corning has expanded the outstanding durability of Gorilla Glass with 'Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2' developed based on advanced glass technology, and Samsung has optimized it by applying process and strengthening technologies and installed it in the S25 Edge.

This adds sturdiness to the S25 Edge, the thinnest Galaxy S series device ever.

'Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2' is made by intricately incorporating crystals into the main material, glass. It is designed to provide improved strength of glass ceramics through synergy between glass and crystal while maintaining high optical transparency.

Additionally, the durability of the display cover has been improved through ion exchange.

“The Galaxy S25 edge, the thinnest S series device ever, sets a new standard for craftsmanship and performance,” said Bae Kwang-jin, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ MX Business Division. “To realize an innovative product experience, both companies shared cutting-edge technologies and a user-centered product philosophy, which were reflected in the Galaxy S25 edge.”

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics and Corning have maintained a partnership for over 50 years, starting with the establishment of a joint venture in 1973 to distribute domestic TVs, and have been using 'Corning® Gorilla® Glass' in all Galaxy S series, including the original Galaxy S.

The Galaxy S25 Edge will introduce detailed product features and specifications online at 9:00 AM on the 13th through Samsung Electronics Newsroom and Samsung.com.
