LG전자가 글로벌 자동차 미디어 ‘모터트렌드(MotorTrend)’가 주관하는 ‘2025 SDV 이노베이터 어워즈(2025 SDV Innovator Awards)’를 수상했다.

LG Electronics (CEO Joo-wan Cho) has been recognized for its contributions to the development of SDV technology.
LG Electronics announced on the 10th that it won the '2025 SDV Innovator Awards' hosted by global automotive media 'MotorTrend'.
In addition, LG Electronics VS Business Division Vice President Eun Seok-hyun was selected for the 'Leader' category, which is awarded to a person leading the SDV-related automotive industry trend. In particular, he was recognized for his contributions to the development of SDV technology.
The awards ceremony was held in Las Vegas, USA, where CES 2025 is being held, on January 7th (local time).
Motor Trend, founded in 1949, is the largest automobile media group in the United States and has influence in the global automobile industry by hosting various awards including the prestigious 'Car of the Year' award in the automobile industry.
With this award, LG Electronics VS Business Division has further solidified its position within the industry as a leader in SDV technology innovation.
Since taking office as the head of the VS Division in 2022, Eun Seok-hyun has been strengthening SDV core competencies such as in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), display, software, telematics, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
In particular, LG introduced 'LG αWare', an SDV solution that innovatively expands customer experience in vehicles in 2024, redefining automobiles as 'living spaces on wheels' rather than simply a means of transportation.
LG Alphaware includes: △ PlayWare, an in-vehicle entertainment solution that provides high-definition and high-quality content experience; △ MetaWare, which provides drivers with useful information and immersive in-vehicle experiences with AR/MR and AI technologies; △ BaseWare, which enhances the performance of existing vehicle OS (operating system) or supports the construction of new platforms; and △ OpsWare, which assists developers throughout the development process, from various software integration to new technology verification and distribution.
Also various partsWe have contributed to the advancement of SDV technology by developing a platform that integrates IVI and ADAS technologies with Nersa. This platform enables real-time data sharing between IVI and ADAS, thereby improving customer vehicle performance and driving convenience, providing a safer and more efficient driving experience. In addition, we have been recognized for our high level of security technology by obtaining the international common evaluation criteria certification that evaluates the security stability of V2X (Vehicle to Everything) communication modules.
