Significantly reduces development difficulty without requiring complex coding
Providing diverse solutions, differentiated performance for industry and medical
“Trinamic motor control solutions increase the efficiency and precision of essential motor control in today’s smart factories, electric vehicles, mobility, robotics, and advanced military industries, enabling precise motion control, energy efficiency, and miniaturized system design in a variety of applications.”
Marknica Korea's Hwang Jeong-pil, technical support manager for the domestic distribution and technical support of global semiconductor company Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), introduced ADI's Trinamic solution at the '2025 e4ds Motor Control Technology Conference' held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 14th, and announced that ADI is innovatively developing ADI's motor drive and control technology, which is essential for implementing advanced industrial automation systems and smart factories.
Trinamic is a motion control specialist headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, formerly part of Maxim Integrated and then acquired by ADI.
Accordingly, ADI will use Trinamiq's technological capabilities to develop stepper motors, BLDC motors, DC motors, solenoids, etc. We provide four major motor solutions domestically.
Manager Hwang Jeong-pil said that Trinamic products have significantly reduced the development difficulty compared to existing motor control methods.
He explained the product's advantages, saying, "Trydynamic products are designed to be controlled simply by setting registers that have already been profiled, instead of complex coding for motor control."
Additionally, TriCoder™ technology, which can utilize the motor itself as an encoder, has been revealed to enable movement detection using a counter-electromotive force detection method without an external sensor.
In the stepper motor field, the feature called 'StealthChop™' was emphasized. This feature is a technology that further reduces noise and vibration even in microstep operation, and it was mentioned that it is widely used in the medical equipment industry to reduce psychological anxiety of patients.
Additionally, Trinamiq offers a variety of specialized features, such as ‘StallGuard-4™’, which prevents motor loss of synchronisation, and ‘CoolStep™’, which actively controls current to minimise power consumption.
Manager Hwang Jeong-pil said, “Trianamic solutions are being used in various industries such as semiconductor equipment, collaborative robots, and medical equipment.”
TrinamiK solutions enable smoother and more precise movements by precisely adjusting acceleration and deceleration at robot joints. They provide differentiated performance in areas such as industrial robots, medical robots, and precision machining robots.
Manager Hwang Jeong-pil also actively introduced ADI’s BLDC motor control solution. For BLDC motors, they have control technology that can support up to 50,000 RPM, and they said that demand has been increasing recently in collaborative robots and medical equipment.
In addition, we are launching AGV-specific products that can be applied in material transport and logistics automation systems to support the stable transport of heavier cargo, and we are applying them to solenoid and switching valve systems to help achieve energy efficiency and maintenance optimization.
In particular, ADI is establishing a presence in the BLDC motor control market centered on its recently released motion controller chip, the 'TMC4671'. The TMC4671 has various built-in functions such as ADC and encoder input, and provides excellent performance with a controller speed of up to 100 kHz.
In addition, ADI is responding to customer needs by diversifying its product line, including △TMC5271 △TMC5272 △TMC5240 △TMC2240 △TMC6100 △MAX22216, and supplying products in various forms, including modular products, board-type driver products, and chip-level solutions.
Manager Hwang Jeong-pil said, “We also have modular products that customers can use immediately without separate hardware design, and we can also provide customized solutions according to capacity and function if necessary.”
Manager Hwang Jeong-pil said, “ADI trinamic technology is expected to be widely applied in various industrial fields such as robots, industrial automation, medical devices, and logistics automation systems,” and “Through this, it will contribute to maximizing the performance of advanced automation systems and accelerating innovation across related industries.”
